Initial assessment of manufacturers and measures regarding product compliance
Before granting a type approval, RAR verifies the existence of appropriate measures regarding product conformity and documented control plans that must be agreed with the manufacturer for each approval in order to carry out, at certain intervals, the tests or related checks necessary to verify continuity of conformity with the approved type including, as appropriate, the tests specified in the applicable regulatory acts.
The production conformity procedure always includes the evaluation of the quality management systems as an “initial assessment” as well as the verification of the type approval subject and the product controls, called “product conformity measures”.
Continuous verification measures
RAR, as the approval authority that granted the type approval, can at any time verify the conformity control methods applied in each production unit, through periodic audits. For this purpose, the manufacturer allows access to the points of production, inspection, testing, storage and distribution and provides all the necessary information related to the documentation and records of the quality management system.
